Initially, there were a number of issues with intermittent wireless connectivity to the Internet. I came across that the problem was with my older 802.11g router (NETGEAR WPN824v2). I enhanced to a Linksys E4200 and I never have had a problem subsequently.

There Samsung UN46D8000 is a problem with consistency in the backlighting as many people are mentioning in their critiques. However, I only6 noticed it once the screen was a standard blue color although DirecTV updated the program on the DVR. I would not notice it if you watch television or actively playing Xbox 360. The dark levels appear to be okay; color, contrast, and clarity are exceptional.

I turned off the image smoothing. Leaving this on did make everything appear to be hyper-real, but I would rather my films to look like motion pictures and not like I am just standing on the collection. The picture is still extremely sharp with the attribute turned off, but the motion blur helps preserve the cinematic feel of movies and television programs.

This was each of our second choice, the first being the The new sony XBR 55HX929. However, after seeing these televisions side-by-side, I couldn’t make a case for the extra $1000.
