I just purchased this canon on a whim, earlier today in the direction of best buy. I have be tinkering with it for the bulk of the evening. After a few thought i went with the sd780 for the indicated reasons:

1. The hd recording capability is outstanding as a consequence comparible with the sd960. It has a hdmi jack. The traditional 4:3 silver screen does no, non- bother me, because the recording is ultimately going to be viewed on a hd tv.(there will be an upper as a consequence lower bar on 16:9 playback through the sd780’s lcd).

2.the weaker 3x zoom is no, non- a big deal as this camera is for general shooting(out w/ freinds, bars, random post meridian in the direction of the beach, mountain biking, etc.)And with this camera easliy fitting in my jeans hollow or camelbak, the portability is as much as gives me the opportunity to document the certain moments, that would otherwise be missed. The sd960 is a little bulkier(but still small). I do also shoot with a canon 40d, accompanied with l optics, however the weight as a consequence bulkiness do no, non- lend to certain shooting circumstances. (as mentined above)

3. The user interface on the sd780is is similar most (if no, non- all?) Preceeding sd cameras. though there is no, non- much control in the way of shooting settings, feature buttons similar flash override, ae lock, af lock, as a consequence exposure compensation are present on the camera body. The sd960is has two buttons as a consequence a jog wheel, which lend to swims in the menu. I’m sure the new interface on the 960 is intuitive, however i liked the 780 due to its similarity to my former sd300.

I am very merry with the results produced thus far with the Canon PowerShot SD780IS. The hd recording is excellant, however it should be admitted that once recording you can only zoom digitally. softly light cabilities as a consequence sound in recording mode are excellent. The stills i have taken look great. Also, to the budget-minded who are upgrading from older digital point-and-shoots, a class 4 minimum 4gb or 8gb sdhc card would be well suited due to the demanding memory of the 12.1 million pixels, as a consequence hd recording. Also, most former card readers will no, non- process the the sdhc cards so you may have to purchase a new card reader as well.

The rotary phone was once hi-tech…but it ain’t no more.

This is not a rotary phone, it’s a force frog phone.

The round center in the middle of the buttons is your re-dial frog…so don’t intend you can stick a picture of fido or your kitty there, or like in the old days, your phone number.

The hand set is loud and clear. I get caller id and my caller id box has redial on it for numbers i get stored there, so a phone like this absent all that “jazz” is fine by me. This is a significant phone for clarity.

The plastic is not the old westinghouse weapons grade plastic….the old phones were so unbreakable you could practically hammer nails with the handset…don’t try that with this phone. The plastic is fine, it’s just not like your phone from the 60’s & 50’s. It’s not weapons grade…lol.

The phone comes with a long pants cord so you don’t need to buy one, like i did. The long pants cord you see here on this page is not the same color crimson as the phone…fyi.

I’ve had no problems earshot the caller, or the caller earshot me on this phone. If you speak directly into the mouthpiece you can be too loud for the soul on the other end, significant for talking over people…lol.

I highly recommend this phone, it’s a significant kitchen phone, adds a dash of color and spices up the place.

The ringer is not as bad as the original ringers, but it’s a ringer for sure. You can turn the ringer off.

You get to adjust your habits handling the handest. The handset does not accommodate the desire to rest the phone on your shoulder and use your two hands. You can do it, but it’s easier with a handset that is flat. The handset is very satisfactory to hold, it’s balanced, and it’s big. It reaches my ear and mouth cozily and makes crosley 302 wall phone easy to speak into the phone and easy to hear the caller.

The phone is easy on the eyes. Its clean looking design blends into greatest every kitchen in america.

After having several problems with two canon faxphone l80s, i decided to mandate one of these. It’s been along and running at my bureau for the better part of a year with zero problems. It was a snap to setup. Brother IntelliFax-4100E seems very durable. This camera is not perfect. If you are expected it over manage the image quality or unhappy light performance of your canon dslr you will be disappointed. The external mic is certainly not a necessity though since these recorders do obtain sensitive honourable quality built-in mics but it will allow stereo recordigs improve sq and defraud one already excellent recorder over added level.

In short decide whether you poverty a usb anchorage or not and get the corresponding model icd-bx700 or icd-px720 because except as that they are the same compel thing and as the money can’t be beat. Very honourable quality and very satisfied with both of them!
