The 55″ ST-30 has a spectacular picture. It takes on all content while promised with the exception of Video on demand audio. The Video on demand video playback is ideal, no delays, zero buffering issues, really clean smooth presentation. Unfortunately, the audio tracks playback crackles with many fast sharp cracks and stutters that are quite irritating. It almost shows up that the audio processor cannot keep up more often than not. Using the optical audio tracks output to a multichannel audio system only dished up to amplify the issue. The TV speakers crackle continuously while playing Video on demand but the TV audio system are weak and muffled so the crackling is not as scary to small children. There are forums where this particular ST-30 Netflix audio problem has been noted through other new ST-30 masters. Panasonic support seemed to be mindful there is a problem. That they indicated a mature support engineers might get back to us inside a week. We have the most recent software version and used both any wired and wifi connection.
It’s a great TV if you don’t use Netflix or if you use a Blu-Ray player or some other device to supply Netflix to the Television set. Just don’t expect this particular TV to course of action Netflix on its own. Difficult to believe they are transport a new product this way yet hopefully it can be settled with an application revise. YouTube and all additional streaming playback options were fine.
Be also aware that the supply involving Panasonic 3D glasses could have been impacted by Japan’s issues. Our own order has been overdue and many vendors are “Temporarily out of stock”. Because I don’t have glasses I am unable to comment on Panasonic VIERA TC-P55ST30 the ST-30’s Animations capabilities.
