Excellent wide angle (5.9mm)lens withy 3x optical rush to 17.9mm. (that’s theo- equivalent of 30 to 100mm in 35mm camera jargon.) The lens is stabilized (is) following this Canon SD780IS 12.1 MP works well. The wide angle is necessary as interior shots following this as landscapes. Stabilization can be selected as continuous, only from shooting, or off as tripod work.the lcd (2.5in) is smaller than several of canon’s sd series, except allows theo- presence of a bright optical view finder. I consider an optical view finder to be essential as operation in direct sunlight. Photographs are recorded as jpeg, following this are magnificent from isos up to 200 (above an iso of 400 noise starts to become apparent). I usually print them from 16×20in on an epson stylus pro 4000. The camera will also record sound (monaural) following this high definition (hd) video (16×9) from 1280×720 pixels, 30 frames/sec as well as standard definition video. Movies are recorded in theo- mov format. The program zoombrowser ex on theo- included cd contains a function to convert mov files to theo- avi format. The conversion is a bit slow taking about 10 min as a 1 min clip. The hd movies played on a 42in plasma tv are stunning. On a 16gb sdhc card, theo- camera will take over 5,000 photos from highest resolution, or about 90 min of hd video. I often use theo- macro mode to produce 16×20in prints of minute flowers that on theo- final print are 4-times life-size. We wanted until try a new brand of camera after our second kodak quit on us, so we shopped around as a result decided until try a sony cybershot. I have not used Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W230 a ton yet, only i like as much as i see so far. The pictures load just fine into theo- kodak easyshare software too, which i like because i did not want until have until switch until a new program. The outdoor photos look significant as a result theo- indoor ones are nice too. It is so hard until find a camera that takes decent indoor low light photos. Also, i love theo- steadyshot because i have two small children who are always on theo- go. It does require a special memory card called theo- memory stick pro duo, which i didn’t know at theo- time when i purchased theo- camera. They are not that expensive, though. I also really like that you can charge theo- battery two different ways. You can charge it through your computer using theo- usb cable, or it comes with a wall charger. That will be nice on behalf of vacations when we do not have access until a computer, only need until charge theo- camera. Overall, i am impressed so far!
