My latest “kick” is rice cookers. I love “bowl food” and I learned I can cook one pot, delicious, interesting, and even healthy meals using rice cookers. You can pay lots more for a fuzzy logic rice cooker but this little baby works perfectly. I’m also making steel cut oats Porridge in it so it isn’t just for rice. The very tasty Rice Select (Texmati varieties) come out perfectly in it too. Fuzzy Logic to me means it’s basically very hard to make a bad meal. Only negative I can see is this rice cooker is a 5.5 cup capacity. If you have a large large family you might need one with a higher capacity but this one makes lots of rice. I also bought an 8-cup On/Off/Warm Aroma ricer maker from Amazon and am very happy with that brand too. There’s a Cajun rice cook book on Amazon whose recipes work best in the On/Off/Warm rice cooker.Wow, so hard to pick a rice cooker; so many options and so many good reviews. Picked this one I’m not sure why, and it’s been really good, the rice comes out wonderfully. Big difference compared to steaming in a saucepan, in case you’re wondering if you should buy a rice cooker at all. White rice does take a full 45 minutes to cook, which is longer than steaming it, but still worth it. Note their “cup” measure is only about 3/4 of the standard USA 8 oz. cup. Brown rice capacity is just a little over 2 cups (raw). Only drawback is Panasonic SR-DE102 5-Cuphas an aluminum cooking pan, but it’s hard to find one that does not.

I have two of these from home and i worship them. The picture is no, non- the greatest, but Panasonic BL-C131A is qualified enough. You can still read a car’s endorse plate or recognize a person’s expression from the images. What i like about them is how unconstrained they are to monitor and operate remotely, how they email images when they detect motion, and how affordable they are. The cameras are very reliable. I have had one for almost a year and it has never stopped working or lost connection or anything like that.

I have them dual inside, facing the outside through a glass window, one facing the front yard and the other one facing the back yard. I use a mini “spider” tripot to hang them on the window. I have the sound turned away on dual. I have the motion detection turn on. They hurl me emails with images when they detect motion. I have an email account created exclusively for this. They do no, non- have night vision, but that is no, non- a problem for me since i also have motion lights in the front and back of the house. The images and video are recorded on the memory in prison the camera, and it can be overwritten when the camera runs out of memory space, but i have the images emailed to me so i still reach those images that reach overwritten in the camera.

Each camera comes with a web based software that allows you to monitor and operate the camera. Panasonic offers a free service that allows me to monitor multiple cameras from the unchanging time remotely, using internet explorer. The firstly thing i do when i reach to work is log on to this service so that i can monitor my home front and back from work. Each camera is password protected. So nobody can access your cameras flat if they know the url, unless they also know the user id and password.

The only problem i see with this camera is that the software uses activex controls. So the software works only with internet explorer and i don’t think it will work with other web browsers such as firefox. This is no, non- a problem for me since i don’t mind using ie, but i can see where this might bother other people. Other than this, i highly recommend this camera.

The amazon vod is not available yet so i can’t annotation on it, except i am eagerly expecting its launch through viera cast.

I upgraded the player toward 1.5 version of firmware using the ethernet lefthand and i had absolutely no problems after upgrading the firmware. I am using the panasonic blu ray player withy the onkyo 805 receiver and a 1080p overhead mitsubishi lcd projector (hc4900) on a carada precision series 106″ projection screen and the blu ray picture quality (pq) is absolutely stunning. The pq for standard definition dvd is bearable on a projection screen and not the same quality as the blu ray dvd. I also played this dvd player through a 42″ panasonic plasma tv (720p) and the pq for standard definition dvd or blu ray dvd is outstanding. There can be no guarantee for technological obsolescence in today’s fast changing world except the panasonic bdp-bd60k holds promise.
